Hey Hopefully a nice weekend of golf is on your agenda. I post golf coaching YouTube videos every Wednesday and Sunday. All coaching videos are based around real golf lessons that I give both in person and online. This week's YouTube video is around the P3 position in the backswing. P3 is important because it directly follows the takeaway position, and I would say it's the first point in the golf swing in which we can critically analyze the shaft angle and the clubface position as to how you finish the backswing. My coaching philosophy very much surrounds the takeaway position because having that face and shaft set to move in to a good P3 position will ultimately help you create the desired angles down into the golf ball for compression and good accuracy. Check out the video and let me know what you think. If you want to know more about online coaching and you have yet to take a free swing analysis with me, then hit the link and drop me a DM. I can get you an analysis of your golf swing done today. https://skillest.com/@andycarter Have a great weekend! Andy |

Happy Friday! If you’ve tried Pete Cowen’s spinning arm drill, you’ll know the idea: rotate the trail forearm to get the club working in the right direction. It’s a great drill, but a lot of golfers I coach can’t quite feel it. They end up confused about what their arms should be doing. So in this week’s video I show you an alternative: the motorcycle drill. Instead of thinking about your trail forearm, you focus on your lead wrist. You put it into more flexion, like revving a motorcycle...
Hi,I know you work hard on your game and gather your distances and I also know it’s frustrating when your performance on the course doesn’t improve. Greens in regulation don’t increase or distance from the pin doesn’t get closer. My question to you today is - Do you know your CARRY distances? You might think you hit your 7-iron 170 yards. But do you actually know your average carry distance? Do you know your gapping? Or which club is costing you the most shots around the greens?Often Golf is...
I played a tournament earlier in the year. Having not played for a couple of weeks leading up to the event due to wintry conditions here in the UK, I took to my stats to try and figure out the best game plan that I could come up with to best represent my game. And using my shot scope data, I found that one of my main strengths in tournament golf is hitting greens in regulation. For me, and for most golfers, there is a direct correlation with shooting lower scores when you hit more greens in...
